Mentorship with Oily Doula
Program Details:
Duration: 5 months
Group Sessions: Monthly group sessions to discuss topics, share experiences, and provide mutual support; Virtual, One Sunday per month, 1pm-3pm CST
Mutual support with doulas learning from each other
Discuss questions, concerns and next steps
Goal accountability
Doula practice set up (client resources, website, automation, basic business)
Interviewing and working with clients
Time management and organization
Expectations and realities of birth work
Tips for preparing for client visits and attending births
Debrief births
1-on-1 Sessions: Virtual 30-minute meetings to support prenatal or postpartum visits and work through questions or challenges.
Prenatal and Postpartum visit support: Virtual 30 min meetings before or after

Possibility to observe: one interview, prenatal, and postpartum visit.
Assistance with doula training certification (if applicable)
Letter of recommendation (if applicable)

Support, Education, and Growth for Aspiring Doulas
The Oily Doula 5-Month Mentorship Program is designed to support doulas with evidence-based information, on-call support, practical tools, and opportunities to grow your skills as a doula. Through group and one-on-one sessions, you’ll deepen your understanding of pregnancy, birth, and postpartum care. A key focus of our mentorship includes understanding the pelvis and how babies navigate the body during birth. You’ll also have the opportunity to build relationships with other doulas and create a network for backup support.
By the end of the program, you’ll be equipped with the tools you need to grow your doula practice, along with a clear path forward for continuing your development. Each participant will have an exit interview to reflect on their experience.
Mentorship Pre-requisites:
Must have attended a doula training OR enrolled in a training in the next 4 months.
Must attend CAB’s Childbirth for Birthworkers Series or a similar series (if you are not a trained childbirth educator)
Must attend CAB Lactation for Birthworkers or another Lactation for Doulas course (if you don’t have lactation certification)
You do not have to live in Minneapolis area to be a part of the mentorship program!

Fees:
$100-200 Monthly (5 months)
Plus applicable fees for these classes if not already completed:
$200 Lactation for Birthworkers
$130 Childbirth Ed for Birthworkers
Comparable classes will be accepted
